As promised, when the College of General Dentistry was formed, the Faculty of Dental Hygiene & Therapy has been inaugurated. The motion was passed at the Council meeting held on Friday 24th June.
We have brought together a number of Dental Hygienists & Therapist to form the inaugural board. Once we have sufficient members there will be elections for these positions.
The Board consists of:

- Laura McClune
- Kirstie Thwaites
- Sarah Hill
We have a huge amount of work to do and may co-opt others for some of the projects.
Many of the board have been instrumental in creating the career pathways, launched in June 2022. A huge amount of work has gone into this.
This is certainly a historic time for the profession, Dentistry has its own College (hopefully soon a Royal College) and we have our own Faculty.
